The Gurkha fitness test requires excellent physical ability. Among the difficult tasks that candidates must complete are obstacle courses, weighted marches, and endurance races. In an attempt to become a member of the prestigious British Gurkha Army, candidates must pass an intense test of physical skills, endurance, and mental toughness. Here are some of the tips that will be useful for you to take the fitness test.
- For the physical fitness test, you need to eat diet food according to your exercise. During the time of your training, sometimes you accidentally become injured and even then you need to continue your training but in a light way so that it will not affect your injury. If you are training from your home make sure you eat healthy food made only in your house like roti, boiled carrot and broccoli, homemade satu, oats (if you are overweight eat sugar free oats and if you are underweighting eat normal oats containing sugar).
- After your harsh training, you need to stretch your body. If you are doing your arms training stretch your arms, if you are doing your back exercise stretch your back after the training. All in all, you need to stretch your body properly according to your body exercise.
- You need to cut off your junk food routine at this period. Even if you eat those foods make sure to eat in a smaller quantity and after that drink hot water with lemon or without lemon.
- Brush your teeth twice a day and after you eat chocolate, brush for 1 hour after you eat chocolate. If your teeth are irregular make sure you make your teeth before giving your test in the camp.
- For your eyes, if you have color vision there is no chance of passing the test and you won’t be able to give the exam ever again. For the long-distance vision problem, you need to eat green vegetables, do daily yoga, and eat more salad. For your ear examination don’t listen to loud music as it may affect your ear. Don’t listen to your music through earphones or EarPods. While cleaning your ear you need to clear through soft cotton, don’t insert sharp objects inside your ear.
- If you have any health issue, bring medication and a report to the camp before entering. If you have a birthmark that is above the skin, you must get surgery 3 months or above before registering; otherwise, they will not accept you. It will be good that if you are the age of 18 and you have birthmark that are above the skin, you get the surgery remove it and then train for the recruitment.
- If you got injured during the test of the physical fitness, if you can cross the criteria of the test. If you cross the criteria of the test, the officers may select you for another round of the test.
- You need to be a minimum of 1.58 cm height and your weight should match your height (BMI). If you are overweight or underweight according to your height eat and train according to it so that it will match and won’t be a big issue on your physical test.
- Make sure your hand is not hyperextension. If you have a hyperextension hand, you will not be able to join the Gurkha Army. Approximately ten degrees are recognized, however keep in mind that they are not accepted. Train hard to enhance your body posture, as it could affect your physical examination. If you don’t have any physical or health issues, stay fit and workout hard. If you have any, with the help of a doctor and medicine, you should first address your health and physical issues before training hard for your recruitment.
